Parc Festyland has unveiled Valkyrie, its most ambitious attraction to date and a brand‑new roller coaster that brings Norse mythology to life. Opened as a flagship experience for the park’s new season, Valkyrie marks a major milestone for Festyland and reinforces its position as Normandy’s leading family theme park. Inspired by the legendary Valkyries, divine warrior maidens who once guided heroes to Valhalla, the attraction immerses guests in a mythical world from the very first step in the queue. Mysterious mists, thunderous sound effects and runic symbols set the scene, creating a powerful atmosphere that builds anticipation before riders take flight.
Developed in collaboration with Vekoma, Valkyrie is a custom Family Boomerang Coaster designed to combine thrilling sensations with broad family appeal. The ride launches from the heart of Festyland’s Viking area and travels along a 460‑metre track, reaching heights of 27 metres and speeds of over 65 km/h. Riders experience the course twice, forward and backward, adding an extra dimension of excitement.
With a capacity of 20 passengers per train, Valkyrie offers a smooth yet dynamic ride experience, weaving through the park landscape and soaring above walkways. The attraction blends modern coaster engineering with immersive theming, making it as impressive to watch as it is to ride.
