For the design of roller coasters Vekoma uses both commercially available and Vekoma- owned and developed software programs. During the design phase the ride dynamics are assessed in a dynamic multi-body environment.
During the track layout design phase and the vehicle engineering phase the ride dynamics are assessed in a dynamic multi-body environment. In the concept design phase the track curvature of the ride layout is optimized by accurately managing force levels and force transitions on a rigid-body train model in virtual 3D space. During the vehicle engineering phase similar analyses are performed on a more detailed model of the coaster in order to predict and manage higher order vehicle dynamics. Closing the loop by further improving the track design and tuning the train dynamics, the ride design is optimized for a smooth ride experience.
